The Fading Stars--A Fox Pack

(You know Sage has Temper flares people!So you can't punish her too much, While celestian just pushed it too far for her, k? lol)

Sage ripped leaves off the branch of a tree she roosted in for the rest of the afternoon. she chewed on the leaves and spit them out irritably, taking the horrible taste of blood out of her mouth. She almost wished she had'nt decided to leave, because then she would be able to just return the next day, her flare gone. But Celestian inferred the flare, and payed.

((Lol I know. Anger issues?))

I padded swiftly, following Sage's scent trail. It disturbed me to think that Sage, who had been hunting with me just in the morning, had wounded Celestian. "Sage?" I roared. "Sage, if you are going to be considered a member of my pack, you are going to tell me where you are! Otherwhise I might have to use Cel--Frolic, Canter, and Soren to escort you off my territory."

(hm, somthing like that!)
Sage shuddered, blinking awake annoyadly. "Those names," he voice croaked, her grey/tan fur ruffled and matted with Celestian's blood. She lept dwon from the tree, landing awkwardly on three paws, the other flaying outunder her. "uhmph."

Peirce was padding threw the forest when he saw Sage jump down from the tree "Huh... What's the matter" He woofed

I heard a noise coming from my left. Immediately I burst through brambles, and saw Sage, who looked quite groggy. But I couldn't risk anything. Instantly I flung myself on her, pinning her down with my weight and forcing her head to the ground. "Why did you hurt Celstian?"

((Yes, he knows Cel. already told him why...))

Sage's voice cracked under the weight of her old friends body. "Get off me...And I'd tell you!" she tried to flip him over, but only managed to scratch his paw a bit in the process.

"Sage," I warned. "You're getting awfully close to having one of your little ear-pieces removed, or maybe your tail ring. Yes, I know your tail ring is attached to your body, but I can take it off if I want to." Even so, I let up a little on the pressure.

((I was hoping Pierce would be back in the camp....oh well))

Sage extended her claws at the defiance in his voice. "I was having another flare, what about is none of your buisness, and Celestial would'nt leave me alone!" she snarled. her eyes flashed lonliness for the briefest moment as she struggled frre. She panted, he sides heaving. "You know how I get when I have a flare.She was Foolish not to understand!" Old friend...

My eyes softened. "Please, Sage. Please control your emotions. Attacking a pack member is not a way to earn my trust and become...beta. You can't be beta if you go around injuring others when they unknowingly annoy you!"

Sage shrunk back, baring her teeth.The word pierced her like a thorn... "..Beta," she murmered,hopfully too soft for him to hear. "She pushed me too far! I threatened her 3 times before she forced me to scare her away," she let out, batting a paw at her ear pieces arrogantly.

"Scared? That's not what I call it! I call it mauling! Once you drew blood, you should've forced yourself to let her go." I moved closer, my fur bristled but my eyes dark and sympathetic. "Sage, you know inside you shouldn't fight." I murmured.

Uh...sparkle, Kavik's with Sage in the middle of the forest....

Sage blinked sorrowfully, pulling her head down so her ears brushed Kaviks' face. "I'm..sorry," she murmered, starting to slowly pad backward, away from him.

"I am too," I barked, and strode away, my red tail held out stiffly behind me.

Soon I was back at camp. I found Celestian in her den. "Still resting, I see. Good." I murmured gently, padding to my own den beneath the Oak of Stars.

Sage followed slowly. why did he react like that? Since we were kits he's always known how to deal with me when I have flares...but not now...Whats wrong!?

I wondered if I'd been too tough on Sage. Of course not! She hurt Celestian! She hurt herself! What if Celestian becomes badly hurt from her wounds, or no one ever trusts Sage again for what she did?

I sighed, restless. I padded out, up to the Oak of Stars, to finish off my cold pigeon. Suddenly, I froze. A trail of blood led from Celestian's den out into the forest! "No!" I barked, and streaked through, following the trail.
