Splashclan ~ Part 1 ~ The Golden Cat

Treeflight pointed with her tail. "There..."

Vinepelt Stood there looking at Treeflight.

Treeflight curled up on the ground, into a tight ball. She started shivering.

Vinepelt cruled around her to keep her warm.

Treeflight closed her eyes. "What will happen?"

"nothing. your safe with me." Vinepelt purred licking her ears.

Treeflight pressed a little closer. "How can any of us be sure?" she whispered before falling into dreams again.

"I wont let anything happen,"Vinepelt whispered.

Night sat outside and entered the warriors den, and froze, his orbs widening in shock. He whipped around and ran swiftly and silently out of the den.

Splashstar sat in her den. Thinking about last night.

Night entered the leaders den, padding with hisr head low, not looking at Splashstar.

Splashstar Looked at Night. "What is it Night,"she moewed solfly.

Night jumped at her voice. "Whaaa... Oh! Yes... Urrrmmmmm.... About Treeflight and Vinepelt...." he muttered, looking at his paws.

Splashstar tilted her head. "Go on."

"I saw them in the warriors den, sleeping together. Treeflight was talking about two cats that weren't there..." night informed her.

Splashstar sighed." I'll check on her later."

Night nodded. "Alright...."

"Night can I go on the border partol?" Splashstar asked.

Night looked at her surprised. "Youre leader. You can come, I font mind...."
He left the den and padded to the camp entrance.

Splashstar stood up and followed Night.

Night darted after a mouse and morioned for Splashstar to come over to him. A few bird were nearby. Night pressed into the shadows of the brush, hidden. He sprang, only a shadow, and caught a bird in his jaws, and pressed another to the ground with unsteathed claws. The rest flew ten feet away and landed to eat again. "You try," he mewed through the prey in his jaws.

Splashstar looked at Night. "Not to break your bubble but I don't have dark fur. I can't be a shadow like you."

Night shrugged. "Get a few feet away, and when they aren't paying attention to you, spring at them and catch them."

Splashstar sighed and copyed what Night did. She tripped over her paws and fell to the ground head first.

Night grinned. "Keep trying."
